First, Barbie delights fans by honoring Latina legends Rita Moreno and Celia Cruz with their own beautiful dolls. And now, there’s a new addition to the doll universe. And no one saw this one coming. The latest “Latino star” to be immortalized in plastic is none other than Domingo. That’s right, the viral “direct from Domingo” character, played by Cuban-Dominican Comedian Marcello Hernandez on Saturday Night Live, now has his own Funko POP! Figurine. Could us fans be any more excited to have an SNL’s Domingo doll, direct from Funko? No. From the looks of the online chatter, in the 48 hours of the doll’s announcement, thousands of us are very excited and already ordering our dolls. But it appears that we may have to wait a while for our little Domingos to arrive. Why? Well, I came all this way, so let me explain, direct from Nuestro Stories.
From Viral Sensation to Shelf Decoration
For those unfamiliar with Domingo (seriously, where have you been?), let me explain. Marcelo Hernandez, already known for his sketches on SNL, and his Cuban-Dominican comedy specials, first introduced us to Domingo during an October sketch. The scene? A bridal party led by Ariana Grande sang an explosive musical number about the bride’s whirlwind romance and infidelity … with Domingo. Grande’s bridesmaid squad belted out Sabrina Carpenter’s hit “Espresso” with revised lyrics. Then we meet Domingo.
“As the song goes on, Domingo himself shows up, and his entrance — in which he excitedly sings ‘Came all this way, had to explain, direct from Domingo’ — went viral online almost immediately,” The Wrap writes.
Fans loved it so much that Domingo returned in another sketch just weeks later, this time set to Chappell Roan’s “Hot to Go.” Domingo had officially gone from chaotic wedding guest to meme-worthy legend. This sketch, which some say wasn’t as good as the original, has over 35 million views on TikTok alone.
And now? He’s 4.6 inches tall, with tousled hair, hooded eyes, and a speech bubble that reads, yes, “Direct from Domingo.”
The Funko-ification of SNL’s Domingo
Funko’s decision to honor Domingo is an unexpected surprise to all of us. According to The Wrap, the figurine was made to celebrate SNL’s 50th anniversary. You can grab yours for $11.99 on Funko.com — a small price to pay for the privilege of owning a little piece of chaotic wedding history.

But is this the start of a new trend? Should we expect Pop! figurines for all of SNL’s viral characters? Imagine your shelf lined with a miniature Stefon, a disheveled Debbie Downer, and now, Domingo, forever ready to crash a bridal party with a song in his heart.
“Direct from Domingo” Hits a Shelf Near You
The best part? Marcelo Hernandez’s Funko journey mirrors Domingo’s knack for stealing the spotlight. In real life, Hernandez even showed up at a Sabrina Carpenter concert in character — complete with police escort. That’s the kind of commitment to chaos we love to see honored in vinyl.
So, what’s next for Domingo? A Netflix movie? A feature film titled “Direct from Domingo: The Musical?” Only time, and the internet, will tell.
For now, you can join the masses and pre-order the vinyl “Pop! Direct from Domingo” Funko figure, which comes out in May 2025. It’s a long wait, but, as Jenny Tuell explains on TikTok, on behalf of all of us fans: “Did I purchase this immediately? Yes! Is the estimated ship date May 2025? Yes. Will I still care about Domingo? Absolutely.”
Whether he’s crashing weddings or sitting proudly on your shelf, Domingo is the kind of fun worth waiting for.
